Explorers Unleashed: G3 Blog

To develop our understanding of shapes (as well as the tools we use to create them) - Grade 3 is exploring some artists who create with shapes and lines: Frank Stella Piet Mondrian Jim Lambie Inspired by Jim Lambie's instillation works (showcased in the Tate Modern for example) some Gr.3 learners developed their own instillation piece! Their completed piece is call F A N C Y T A B L E and it is on show in the DSKI entrance way now.

Grade 3 are just finishing up our Unit on Sharing the Planet. Our central Idea for this unit was that Humanity's future is dependent on resources . Our guiding question through our first Line of Inquiry was "What's the problem?". We sought to understand the challenges faced by so many due to limited natural resources . Our guiding question through our second Line of Inquiry was "What can we do?". Learners undertook a project called Designing for Change. We brainstormed ideas where we could Invent , Innovate or Campaign to create a positive change.
