Discussing opinions
Inspired by our recent inquiry into the global goal on Energy, Grade 3 English Language Arts learners had a classroom debate.
This picture provided our jumping in point:
- Learners were given the opportunity to share their initial thoughts.
- As we shared our thinking, we began to articulate some deep questions we needed to explore.
- Learners got stuck into doing the research. We looked for Facts, Reasons, Examples or Details about drilling for oil.
- Learners were placed into a team FOR or AGAINST drilling for oil and needed to argue their points (not their personal opinion). You can watch them here:
